Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

SongBuilder ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Email address and password when you register.
  • Content you create: Journal entries, prayers, testimonies, song seeds, and any text you submit to build songs. This content is private to your account and is never shared with other users.
  • Hard Rules and preferences: Your theological rules, style preferences, and AI memory notes.
  • Payment information: When you purchase a subscription or one-time build, payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: How you interact with the app (features used, songs built, sessions started).
  • Device information: IP address (used solely to enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse).
  • Analytics: Anonymous event tracking to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service — generating songs, managing your catalog, and saving your journal entries.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
  • To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
  • To send you service-related emails (e.g., welcome emails, subscription alerts).
  • To improve and optimize the Service through analytics.
  • To provide customer support when you contact us.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your content — journals, prayers, testimonies, and songs — is stored securely in our database and is accessible only to you and authorized administrators. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

Your journal entries and personal content are the heart of SongBuilder. They are never sold, never shared with third parties for marketing, and never made public without your explicit action.

4. AI Processing

When you build a song or use the journal feature, your input is sent to AI language models (Anthropic Claude) to generate lyrics and content. We send only the text needed for the specific request. Your content is processed to generate your song and is not used to train AI models.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Stripe: Payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic (Claude): AI lyric generation. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Google: Google Drive sync (optional feature you explicitly connect) and authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Suno: External music generation platform. SongBuilder generates lyrics and style tags; you paste them into Suno separately. We do not send your data to Suno.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at smh.songbuilder@gmail.com. Upon request, we will permanently delete your journals, songs, and personal data within 30 days.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Opt out of analytics tracking.
  • Cancel your subscription at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at smh.songbuilder@gmail.com.

8. Children's Privacy
